What is RoHS?

You may have noticed a graphic on our product packaging. This RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) graphic indicates the products within the package comply with new manufacturing standards designed to reduce or eliminate the use of the following 6 substances.

  • 1. Lead
  • 2. Mercury
  • 3. Cadmium
  • 4. Hexavalent chromium
  • 5. Polybrominated biphenyls
  • 6. Polybrominated diphenyl ether

The European Union was among the first to have established and approved standards called RoHS. Bentel took a leading role in achieving RoHS compliance by eliminating identified environmentally unfriendly compounds from the manufacturing process. We are pleased to say that our product offering to Europe (and Korea for that matter) is 100% RoHS compliant as a result. In fact, IPC Association Connecting Electronics Industries® recently awarded certification to Bentel for our Lead Free Electronics Assembly Process Capability Program – one of the first manufacturers to receive it.

Bentel believes that we have a responsibility to our customers, to the communities where we work and where we do business globally – to ensure that our manufacturing process is environmentally responsible and our products are environmentally sound. We are committed to bringing reliable, environmentally responsible and quality products to our customers around the globe – for today and for our future.
